Fair bringing together the polymer and rubber industry

Over 2,000 professional visitors visited the recent EPLA Plastics and Rubber Trade Fair co-organised by Międzynarodowe Targi Poznańskie and Business Image Publishing House (owner of the Plastics Review magazine). Each year the event is becoming more popular among visitors from the polymer and rubber industry. EPLA also recorded a significant increase in terms of exhibition – this year 58 exhibitors presented their offer, and machinery companies have already announced their presence at the next edition, so we can expect increasingly better results.

Raw materials and plastics in showrooms

Exhibitors presented their offer in several key thematic areas – in addition to the distribution of raw materials and additives – also in the rubber, thermoforming and injection exhibitions. In the various exhibitions, companies presented the capabilities of their machine parks, which include extrusion and thermoforming machines, and showed high-tech, often proprietary, injection and thermoforming technologies. The fair also featured exhibitions of specialised manufacturers and distribution companies that offer complete packaging systems for the food, confectionery, chemical and egg industries; moulded and extruded rubber goods for different purposes and use, and a variety of feedstocks, additives and components for the processing of rubber and plastics.

Meetings of the professional elite

Professionals who visited the fair particularly valued meetings as part of the Third Convention of the Plastics Technology Club, which celebrated its first birthday. The club is Poland's first environmental organisation representing the interests of plastics processing engineers both at home and abroad. It brings together the technological elite of the industry, and the INNOVATION LEADER prizes awarded at EPLA fair by the board of club are very prestigious. Three awards were granted to HANEX, MARCATO and MINIBUD, and the winner of the competition was PHOENIX CONTACT WIELKOPOLSKA "for shortening the injection cycle with the implementation of new electric injection moulding machines, which results in significant cost and process savings".

On the first day of the fair, a series of lectures, which attracted a full room of listeners, was held. The subjects covered mainly new technologies and business opportunities in the plastics industry. They were given by university researchers and representatives of companies that use the most interesting innovations.

Specialists about EPLA

Waldemar Sobański, chief editor of Plastics Review, summed up the whole event: "After extensive talks and several meetings at EPLA 2012, I can assure you, with full responsibility, of exhibitors' satisfaction and – equally importantly – favourable opinions of the visitors who came to Poznań with the conviction that EPLA is a clear exhibition idea combined with attractive industry events and professional atmosphere of constructive talks on the polymer business in Poland. It would be worthwhile to mention the high level of exhibition infrastructure on MTP fairgrounds and the professionalism of the team organising the exhibition".

We hope that EPLA Fair provided all users with access to advanced technology and specialised companies in the plastics and rubber industry, and that the meetings held here will be the key to business growth for you.
